Kitchen rentals
The Stir Kitchen is ideal for start-up food service businesses, those looking to establish food product production, start-up bakers, and small established producers looking to expand production.
Commercial Kitchen Use
The Stir Kitchen has a tiered rate structure depending on the amount of hours rented weekly.
StirMaker Level 1 (1-5 Hours Weekly) $26/Hour
StirMaker Level 2 (6-19 Hours Weekly) $22/Hour
StirMaker Level 3 ( 20-39 Hours Weekly) $18/Hour
StirMaker Level 4 (40+ Hours Weekly) $16/Hour
Maker-Owned Equipment Storage
Stir Makers may store small equipment on their dedicated dry storage shelves, or rent a dedicated "parking space" within the kitchen for larger equipment. *Subject to availability*

Event Rentals
The Stir has three primary rental areas; the Riverfront Courtyard (Outdoor) is ideal for those looking to host an event/party of 200 people or less. The StirFront (Indoor) is ideal for business meetings, conferences, and those looking to host 50 people or less. The Parklet (Outdoor) is the perfect space for mobile businesses looking for a consistent location to operate and for food trucks; flexible rental contract based on business needs and a 120V outdoor outlet available.
Warehouse Storage
The Food Hub Warehouse is ideal for established businesses seeking bulk /pallet, freezer, or dry storage with monthly rental rates, and for current StirMakers/Kitchen users needing bulk storage space.

up front costs
There are a few upfront costs to know about in order to plan accordingly:
Annual StirMaker/Makership Fee
$100/Year
Includes access to The Stir Kitchen and its food safety/sanitation plan templates, as well as assistance with applying for health permits, product development/testing, ingredient sourcing, and assistance with packaging and labeling on products. StirMakers also have access to event rental spaces at a discounted rate.
Damage Deposit
$500
The deposit will be returned within 30 days after the final move out date and once the Maker has removed all of their possessions from the facility and paid their final invoices.
Commercial Liability Insurance
StirMakers are required to have their own $3 million commercial liability insurance with The Stir listed as additionally insured. The Stir can assist you with obtaining a policy if you do not already have one. Policies typically range from $800-$1,200 annually. Payment plans are typically available.
Interior Health Approval / City of Kamloops Busines License
All businesses who use The Stir Kitchen are required to obtain approval through Interior Health and a business license. These fees vary. Contact Interior Health and the City of Kamloops for further details.
